RESUMO A soja está entre as principais culturas do mundo, pois é uma excelente fonte de proteínas, micronutrientes e óleo. Considerando que o estresse abiótico afeta o agronegócio, acarretando em perdas, a produtividade de grãos da cultura deve ser mantida mesmo sob altas temperaturas. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi selecionar marcadores relacionados à produtividade da soja, avaliada em altas temperaturas, por meio de mapeamento associativo. A população de mapeamento incluiu 80 PIs de soja e 15 controle. Para a fenotipagem, os genótipos foram avaliados em altas temperaturas em um experimento realizado em Teresina (estado do Piauí) e foram avaliados quatro caracteres de interesse agronômico: altura da planta na maturidade, valor agronômico, peso de 100 sementes e rendimento de grãos. A genotipagem foi realizada por meio da Affymetrix Platform (180 K Axiom® Soybean Genotyping Array) e o desequilíbrio de ligação entre pares de marcadores foi calculado por meio do coeficiente de determinação, por meio do teste de permutação rápida. A análise da associação entre os marcadores e o fenótipo de interesse foi realizada por meio de uma abordagem de modelo linear generalizado, incluindo dados de fenotipagem, marcadores SNP e informações sobre a estrutura populacional. Os resultados revelaram que 34,06% dos loci apresentaram desequilíbrio de ligação significativo (p < 0,001), sendo encontradas 16 associações significativas para os quatro caracteres relacionados à tolerância ao calor. Essas associações podem auxiliar os melhoristas que buscam incorporar a tolerância a altas temperaturas em programas de melhoramento genético da soja via seleção assistida por marcadores.

ABSTRACT Soybeans are among the world’s main crops because they are excellent sources of proteins, micronutrients, and oil. Considering that abiotic stress affects agribusiness, resulting in losses, the grain yield of the crop must be maintained even at high temperatures. In this context, the objective of this study was to select markers related to soybean yield assessed under high temperatures, using associative mapping. The mapping population included 80 soybean PIs and 15 controls. For phenotyping, genotypes were evaluated at high temperatures in an experiment conducted in Teresina (in the state of Piauí) and four characters of interest for agronomy were evaluated: height of the plant when mature, agronomic value, 100-seed weight, and grain yield. Genotyping was carried out using the Affymetrix Platform (180 K Axiom® Soybean Genotyping Array), and the imbalance in the connection between pairs of markers was calculated through the coefficient of determination using the fast permutation test. The analysis of the association between markers and the phenotype of interest was carried out using a generalized linear model approach, including phenotyping data, SNP markers, and information on population structure. The results revealed that 34.06% of loci showed a significant linkage disequilibrium (p < 0.001), and 16 significant associations were found for the four characters related to heat tolerance. These associations can aid breeders that aim to incorporate high temperature tolerance in programs of soybean genetic improvement via selection assisted by markers.

RESUMO O desenvolvimento de programas de melhoramento genético requer o conhecimento dos níveis de diversidade presente nas populações, desse modo o objetivo desse estudo foi caracterizar com base em descritores morfológicos a diversidade genética de variedades crioulas de feijão-fava (Phaseolus lunatus L.). A diversidade genética foi estimada a partir dos métodos multivariados que selecionaram variedades crioulas atendendo tanto os agricultores como o mercado consumidor. De acordo com as características morfológicas propostas pelo Biodiversity International, os genótipos UFPI-667 e UFPI-682 são os mais divergentes e apresentam alto potencial para serem utilizados em cruzamentos por serem geneticamente distantes e complementares. A análise de componentes principais detectou associações fenotípicas positivas e significativas entre as variáveis: comprimento da vagem, largura da vagem e produção de grãos. Ao usar métodos multivariados, as variedades crioulas UFPI-666, UFPI-650, UFPI-651, UFPI-687, UFPI-658, UFPI- 673, UFPI-667 e UFPI-674 são candidatos à seleção por apresentarem ciclos mais curtos e maiores produções de grãos, características importantes para o melhoramento do feijão-fava. Este estudo mostrou que as análises multivariadas podem ser usadas como uma ferramenta eficaz para encontrar características potenciais em feijão-fava e pode auxiliar os melhoristas de feijão-fava na seleção de variedades locais superiores. Os acessos UFPI- 667 e UFPI-682 podem ser indicados como genitores em programas de melhoramento genético, pois são distantes geneticamente e complementares em suas características.

ABSTRACT The knowledge of genetic diversity in plant population is essential to the success of plant breeding programs. Thus, previous characterization of landraces is one of the first steps before the indication of genotypes to these plant breeding programs. This study aimed to characterize, through morphological traits, and estimate the genetic diversity in landraces of lima bean (Phaseolus lunatus L.). Genetic diversity was estimated by using multivariate methods that selected individual landraces to be indicated for farmers and consumers. According to morphological traits proposed by Biodiversity International, the genotypes UFPI-667 and UFPI- 682 showed higher dissimilarity and high potential to be used in crosses since they are genetically distant and complementary. The principal component analysis identified positive and significant phenotypic associations between variables: pod length, pod width, and grain production. According to the multivariate methods used, the landraces UFPI-666, UFPI-650, UFPI-651, UFPI-687, UFPI-658, UFPI-673, UFPI-667, and UFPI-674 are potential candidates for selection since they have relevant features for lima bean breeding, such as shorter cycles and higher grain production. This study showed that multivariate analysis can be used as an effective tool to find potential traits in lima bean and can assist the lima bean breeders in the selection of potential landraces. Accessions UFPI-667 and UFPI-682 can be indicated as genitors for breeding programs, as they are genetically distant and complementary in their characteristics.

ABSTRACT Stink bugs that affect soybeans are responsible for significant losses in seed production, quality and germination potential, in addition to hindering the mechanized harvest. To develop insect resistant materials, the breeder can compile a selection index by factor analysis. Therefore, the objective of this work was to validate the use of factor analysis, by means of its estimated gains, for the selection of highly productive and stink bugs resistant genotypes in two soybean segregating populations. For this, the phenotypic evaluation was performed in the generation F2:3, in two distinct experiments, being the populations from the crosses between IAC-100 × PI 295952 and IAC-100 × PI 306712. The experiments were installed in an 18 × 9 alpha-lattice design, with three replicates for each population. Agronomic and resistance characters were evaluated. The factorial scores for each character were obtained for the creation of “supercharacters”. These were designed to check if the selection in the new characters could provide satisfactory simultaneous gains in the original characters. Subsequently, the analysis of variance was performed for all factors, in both populations. The F test showed the presence of variability among genotypes, allowing the selection of superior genotypes. None of the factors selected progenies with all the characters favorably, and their use was not interesting for both populations. With this, complementary studies should be performed with other selection indices in these populations.

ABSTRACT Some germplasm collections have a high number of accessions, which makes it difficult to explore the genetic variability present in the germplasm bank due to the redundancy and the difficulty of detailed analysis of all conserved accessions. Therefore, our study aimed to analyze the genetic diversity of 153 lima bean (Phaseolus lunatus) accessions for the purpose of constructing a core collection. Eleven SSRs were used for this purpose. The 153 lima bean accessions can be represented by low redundancy using a minimum of 34 accessions, thus representing 22 % of the size of the entire germplasm bank. The core collection had a higher Shannon diversity index and expected heterozygosity (1.906 and 0.811, respectively) than those presented by the entire germplasm bank (1.605 and 0.713, respectively), indicating a higher polymorphism of the representative cultivars in relation to the entire collection. The accessions selected for the core collection may be used in future studies of genome association as well as in genetic crosses in breeding programs aimed at developing improved cultivars with high genetic diversity which can meet current and future market needs.

RESUMO Casearia grandiflora (Salicaceae) é uma espécie típica do cerrado piauiense, o conhecimento da diversidade genética dessa espécie é de grande importância para estabelecimento de práticas e estratégias de conservação biológica. O presente estudo teve como objetivo caracterizar a diversidade de C. grandiflora em duas áreas de cerrado do Piauí. Foram analisados 15 descritores de natureza quantitativa, através da medição do caule, folha, fruto e semente, seguida de posterior análise multivariada (componentes principais e agrupamento). Tanto a análise de componentes principais quanto os métodos de agrupamento apresentaram semelhanças na associação das plantas, o que contribuiu para o conhecimento dos padrões de variação fenotípica e divergência da espécie, sendo que a maior variação da diversidade genética foi encontrada dentro das populações. Os resultados fornecem informações importantes, visto que na literatura descrições sobre caracterização morfológica e diversidade genética dessa espécie ainda são limitadas.

ABSTRACT Casearia grandiflora (Salicaceae) is a species typical of the savanna of Piaui state. Knowledge about its genetic diversity is of great importance to establish practices and strategies of biological conservation. This study aimed to characterize C.grandiflora diversity in two areas of savanna. Fifteen quantitative descriptors were analyzed trough measurement of steam, leaf, fruit and seed, followed by multivariate analysis (principal component and grouping). Both principal component analysis and grouping methods showed similarities in plant association, which contribute to the knowledge on patterns of phenotypic variation and species divergence, with the greatest genetic diversity variation found within the populations. The results provide important information because descriptions of morphologic characterization and genetic diversity of this species are still limited in the specific literature.

RESUMO O presente trabalho teve como objetivo propor uma metodologia de agrupamento com reamostragem bootstrap por meio do modelo AMMI (Additive Main Effects and Multiplicative Interaction Analysis), contribuindo para melhor predição da estabilidade fenotípica de genótipos e de ambientes. Ao mesmo tempo, analisar a divergência genética na avaliação de linhagens experimentais de soja, identificando genótipos que reúnam características de alta produtividade, com controle de insetos mastigadores e sugadores, reunindo grupos de genótipos similares para os caracteres avaliados. Foram conduzidos 24 experimentos aleatorizados em blocos com duas repetições subdivididas em conjuntos experimentais com testemunhas comuns. A análise AMMI por componentes principais indicou os dois primeiros eixos como significativos, os quais explicaram 83,9% da porção da soma de quadrados da interação. O primeiro eixo singular da análise AMMI capturou a maior porcentagem de "padrão" e, com acumulação subsequente das dimensões dos eixos, houve uma diminuição na porcentagem de "padrão" e um incremento de "ruídos". Utilizou-se a distância euclidiana entre escores de genótipos como medida de dissimilaridade e posteriormente obtidos os agrupamentos por meio do método hierárquico de Ward. Os genótipos 97-8011, 97-8029, 97-8050 e a testemunha IAS-5 se comportaram como os mais promissores para fins de recomendação, pois os resultados indicaram maior estabilidade e melhor performance quanto à produtividade de grãos.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to propose a clustering methodology with bootstrap resampling using the Additive Main Effects and Multiplicative Interaction Analysis (AMMI) to contribute to better prediction of phenotypic stability of genotypes and environments. It also aims to analyze the genetic divergence in the assessment of soybean lines, identify genotypes with high-yielding characteristics, with control of chewing and sucking insect pests, and cluster similar genotypes for the traits evaluated. A total of 24 experiments were conducted in randomized blocks, with two replications subdivided in experimental groups with common controls. AMMI with principal component analysis indicated that PC1 and PC2 were significant, explaining 83.9% of the sum of squares of the interaction. The first singular axis of AMMI analysis captured the highest percentage of "pattern" and, with subsequent accumulation of the dimensions of the axes, there was a decrease in the percentage of "pattern" and an increase in "noise". The Euclidean distance between genotype scores was used as the dissimilarity measure and clusters were obtained by the hierarchical method of Ward. Genotypes 97-8011, 97-8029, 97-8050 and IAS-5 had the best performance and are promising for recommendation purposes, with the greatest stability and best performance on grain yield.

RESUMO: O alho é uma das hortaliças mais importantes no mercado brasileiro e mundial. No Piauí, mais especificamente na microrregião de Picos, o alho semi-nobre foi cultivado em larga escala e supria a demanda de vários municípios do estado. Devido à entrada do alho nobre no mercado brasileiro, houve redução na produção de alho semi-nobre que pode ter levado à perda de diversidade genética. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a diversidade genética em doze variedades de alho, sendo quatro de origem piauiense e oito da Coleção de Germoplasma de Alho da Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" - Universidade de São Paulo (ESALQ/USP). Para isso, caracterizou-se o germoplasma com base nos descritores propostos pelo International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI), atualmente Bioversity International, e realizou-se a genotipagem das variedades a partir de oito locos SSR. Os resultados obtidos com a análise morfológica corroboraram as análises moleculares, evidenciando complementaridade dessas dimensões de análise no estudo da diversidade genética em alho. Assim, conclui-se que existe divergência genética entre as variedades de alho estudadas em função da procedência do germoplasma e sugere-se que o material oriundo da ESALQ/USP trata-se de um germoplasma distinto do cultivado no Piauí. A divergência genética existente entre as variedades de alho no Piauí indica a possibilidade de seleção de genótipos superiores que aumentem a competitividade do alho piauiense frente ao alho importado.

ABSTRACT: Garlic is one of the most important crops in Brazil and in the world. In Piauí State, specifically in micro region of Picos, semi-noble garlic was once grown on a large scale and supplied the demand of various municipalities in the state. After the noble garlic was introduced to the Brazilian market, the production of semi-noble garlic reduced which may have led to loss of genetic diversity.This study investigated the genetic diversity in twelve varieties of garlic, four originally from Piauí State and eight from the Garlic Germplasm Collection of the College of Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" - Universidade de São Paulo (ESALQ / USP). The present study characterized the germplasm based on descriptions proposed by the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI), currently Bioversity International, and conducted the genotyping of varieties from eight SSR loci. The agronomic characters and microsatellite genotyping were efficient to estimate genetic diversity among the garlic varieties. The results obtained with the morphological analysis corroborated the molecular analyses, demonstrating complementarity of these analyses dimensions in the study of genetic diversity in garlic. Thus, we concluded that genetic diversity exists among the varieties of garlic studied in terms of the germplasm origin and suggests that the material from the ESALQ / USP is a germplasm distinct from that grown in Piauí State. The genetic divergence among varieties of garlic in Piauí State indicates the possibility of selecting superior genotypes that increase the competitiveness of garlic from Piauí State against imported garlic.

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo estimar a base genética de cultivares brasileiras de arroz irrigado liberadas comercialmente no período de 1965 a 2012. As genealogias das cultivares foram obtidas com base em informações de folders de divulgação de cultivares, sites de internet, livros de registros de cruzamentos e artigos científicos. Os seguintes fatores foram calculados: contribuição genética relativa (RGC), contribuição genética acumulada (AGC), frequência (em porcentagem) de cada ancestral na genealogia (FAG), número de ancestrais que constitui cada cultivar (NAC), número de ancestrais responsáveis por 60%, 70%, 80% e 90% da base genética (NAGB) e número médio de ancestrais por cultivar (ANAC). As cultivares foram também agrupadas baseando-se no período de lançamento (1965-1980, 1981-1990, 1991-2000 e 2001-2012); para cada agrupamento, os fatores previamente citados também foram estimados. Um total de 110 cultivares foi estudado. Concluiu-se que a base genética das cultivares brasileiras de arroz irrigado é estreita.

The aim of this study was to estimate the genetic base of Brazilian irrigated rice cultivars released in the period from 1965 to 2012. The genealogies of the cultivars were obtained based on information from marketing folders, websites, crossings records, and scientific articles. The following factors were calculated: relative genetic contribution (RGC), accumulated genetic contribution (AGC), frequency (in percentage) of each ancestor in the genealogy (FAG), number of ancestors that constitute each cultivar (NAC), number of ancestors responsible for 60%, 70%, 80% and 90% of the genetic base (NAGB), and average number of ancestor per cultivar (ANAC). The cultivars were also grouped based on the period of release (1965-1980, 1981-1990, 1991-2000 and 2001-2012). For each grouping, the previously described factors were also estimated. A total of 110 cultivars were studied and it was concluded that the genetic base of Brazilian irrigated rice cultivars is narrow.

The objective of this study was to characterize the genetic variability of Anglo-Nubian goats using microsatellite markers. The study was conducted using herds from four municipalities of Central-Northern Piauí (Teresina, José de Freitas, Campo Maior, and Angical), where technical information is scarce. Seven markers suggested by FAO were used (ILSTS11, McM527, INRA23, ETH10, OarfCB304, OarfCB48, and MAF209). The samples were genotyped using a 7% polyacrylamide gel. The average number of alleles per locus was 4.0, with observed and expected heterozygosity of 0.38 and 0.55, respectively. Few deviations from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were observed for each population. Only two loci deviated significantly in two localities. The coefficient of gene differentiation (GST') indicated that 11.9% of the genetic variation was distributed among populations, and according to the coefficient of inbreeding (GIS = 0.23 and FIS = 0.23), there is a deficiency of heterozygotes within populations. These findings corroborate the Bayesian analyses performed with the STRUCTURE software, which revealed three distinct and moderately structured groups. The graphic analysis showed that Teresina and José de Freitas are isolated groups, while Angical and Campo Maior share most of their alleles. Despite this, the level of diversity among herds was low. Based on this genetic structure, exchange of reproducers among municipalities is recommended for the maintenance of the breed.

A seleção de plantas em soja com resistência ao complexo de percevejos é feitaatualmente com base em métodos laboriosos, o que limita a avaliação de um grandenúmero de genótipos. Assim, este trabalho propôs uma nova alternativa para aseleção de genótipos resistentes, em condição de campo com infestação natural:a massa de sementes boas (MSB). Para isto, 24 genótipos de soja foram avaliadossob dois sistemas de manejo: com controle químico sistemático de insetos(manejo I), e sem nenhum controle (manejo II). Diferentes índices foramestimados utilizando a massa de grãos (Y P) do manejo I e o MSB do manejo II (Y S). A altacorrelação entre Y S e os índices de produtividade média, tolerânciaao estresse e média geométrica, aliada à concordância na determinação dosgrupos de genótipos com resistência e alto rendimento indicam que a MSB é um caráter útil na seleção simultânea para estas características.

Soybean plants with resistance to the stink bug complex are currently selected by extremely labor-intensive methods, which limit the evaluation of a large number of genotypes. Thus, this paper proposed the use of an alternative trait underlying the selection of resistant genotypes under field conditions with natural infestation: the weightof healthy seeds (WHS). To this end, 24 genotypes were evaluated under two management systems: with systematic chemical control of insects (management I), and without control (management II). Different indices were calculated using grain weight (Y P) of management I and WHS ofmanagement II (Y S). The high correlation between Y Sand the indices mean productivity, stress tolerance and geometric mean productivity, plus the agreement in determining the groups of genotypes with resistance and high yield indicate that WHS is a useful character insimultaneous selection for these traits.

A Erythrina velutina Willd., popularmente conhecida como mulungu, apresenta propriedades farmacológicas e se encontra em estado de raridade em regiões do Estado de Sergipe. Devido ao interesse econômico, torna-se fundamental gerar informações para definir planos de conservação e exploração sustentável. Este trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar os indivíduos de Erythrina velutina por meio de marcadores ISSRs. Para isto foram estudados 40 indivíduos do Estado de Sergipe pertencentes a três localidades (Município de Pinhão - Caatinga; Município de Santana do São Francisco e São Cristóvão - Mata Atlântica). Ao total, foram avaliados e obtidos 149 locos a partir de 11 primers ISSR. O número mínimo de locos para estudo de diversidade em E. velutina foi de 117 de acordo com o valor do estresse de Kruskal. Na população de Santana ocorre estruturação genética espacial e a população de Pinhão não possui estruturação genética espacial, seus indivíduos estão distribuídos de forma aleatória o que compromete a sustentabilidade ao longo do tempo, e, portanto, requer ações imediatas de conservação e recuperação.

The coral tree (Erythrina velutina Willd.), popularly known in Brazil as mulungu, presents various pharmacological properties and although extremely scarce, can be found in regions of the State of Sergipe, Brazil. Due to economic interests, producing information in order to set up plans for its conservation and sustainable exploitation becomes essential. The objective of this work was to characterize individuals of Erythrina velutina by means of ISSR markers. In order to do this, 40 individuals were studied from three locations in the State of Sergipe (The town of Pinhão - Caatinga; The towns of Santana do San Francisco and São Cristóvão - Atlantic Forest). In total, 149 loci from 11 ISSR primers were obtained and evaluated. The minimum number of loci for the study of diversity in E. velutina was 117, agreeing with Kruskal's stress value. Spatial genetic structuring is seen in the population from Santana, but the population from Pinhão lacks this structuring; its individuals are distributed randomly, compromising sustainability over time and therefore requiring immediate action for its conservation and restoration.

Soybean is one of the most valuable and profitable oil crop species and a thorough knowledge of the genetic structure of this crop is necessary for developing the best breeding strategies. In this study, a representative collection of soybean cultivars recommended for farming in all Brazilian regions was genotyped using 27 simple sequence repeat (SSR) loci. A total of 130 alleles were detected, with an average allelic number of 4.81 per locus. These alleles determined the core set that best represented this soybean germplasm. The Bayesian analysis revealed the presence of two clusters or subgroups within the whole collection (435 soybean cultivars) and the core set (31 entries). Cultivars of similar origin (ancestral) were clustered into the same groups in both analyses. The genetic diversity parameters, based on the SSR loci, revealed high similarity between the whole collection and core set. Differences between the two clusters detected in the core set were attributed more to the frequency of their ancestors than to their genetic base. In terms of ancestry, divergent groups were presented and a panel is shown which may foster efficient breeding programs and aid soybean breeders in planning reliable crossings in the development of new varieties.

A cúrcuma (Curcuma longa L.) é uma planta propagada vegetativamente que, além de ser utilizada como corante natural pela indústria alimentícia, apresenta diversos compostos biologicamente ativos. O melhoramento convencional da cultura é difícil, sendo usualmente limitado à seleção de germoplasma. O presente estudo avaliou a divergência genética entre os acessos de cúrcuma disponíveis no Brasil, utilizando sete descritores morfo-agronômicos. Foi verificada uma pequena divergência entre os acessos, embora alguns genótipos discrepantes pudessem ser identificados. Os acessos foram alocados em quatro agrupamentos principais, a serem considerados em futuros programas de melhoramento. A análise por variáveis canônicas indicou que alguns descritores colaboraram mais na discriminação dos acessos, enquanto que outros podem ser descartados. Os resultados fornecem subsídios importantes para o melhor uso e conservação da coleção.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) is a vegetatively-propagated crop which is used as a natural dye in the food industry and also presents many biological active compounds. Turmeric conventional breeding is difficult and often limited to germplasm selection. The aim of this study was to evaluate the genetic divergence among turmeric accessions available in Brazil using seven morpho-agronomical descriptors. Overall genetic divergence was low, although some divergent genotypes were identified. Four main groups of genotypes were identified and could be further used in breeding programs. Canonical variable analysis suggested that some descriptors were more important to discriminate accessions and also that one of the descriptors could be discarded. The results provided useful insights for better management of the germplasm collection, optimizing conservational and breeding efforts.

O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o progresso genético obtido para a produtividade de grãos de genótipos de feijoeiro entre os anos de 1989 a 2007 no Estado de São Paulo. O progresso genético foi desmembrado em períodos de pesquisa de 1989 a 1996 (primeiro período) e de 1997 a 2007 (segundo período). No primeiro período foi obtido um progresso genético relativo de 1,07 % por ano, enquanto que para o segundo período, a estimativa de ganho genético foi igual a zero, mas com produtividade média das linhagens em torno de 1000 kg ha-1 superior ao primeiro período. Foi possível constatar que a principal causa da ausência de progresso genético no segundo período ocorreu após o início dos trabalhos de melhoramento genético para o desenvolvimento de linhagens com melhor qualidade de grãos. A análise separada para genótipos com grão carioca também indicou ausência de ganho genético para o período analisado.

The goal of the present work was to evaluate the genetic gain obtained in grain yield for the common bean genotypes from 1989 until 2007, at the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas, in the state of São Paulo. Genetic gain has been separated into two research periods; the first, from 1989 to 1996, and the second, from 1997 to 2007. In the first period, a genetic gain of 1.07 % per year was obtained, whereas for the second period, the gain was zero. However, the mean yield of the evaluated lines was approximately 1000 kg ha-1 superior to the figures obtained in the first period. The main cause for the absence of genetic gain in the second period is that the focus of the breeding program was changed to grain quality. The individualized analysis of the genotypes with carioca grains in the second period indicated the lack of genetic gain during the investigated period.

Locos microssatélites e dados de genealogia foram utilizados para avaliar a diversidade genética de um grupo de 168 cultivares brasileiras de soja. Os dezoito locos utilizados apresentaram em média 5,06 alelos por loco e coeficiente de diversidade genética médio de 0,58. O dendrograma final resultante da matriz de distância genética de Roger modificado por Wright, apresentou boa concordância com a ancestralidade dos grupos formados. Também foi estimado os coeficientes de parentesco entre as cultivares, sendo observada variação de 0 a 1 com média de 0,18, enquanto que as similaridades para os locos microssatélites (1- GD) variou de 0,01 a 0,90 com média de 0,25. A correlação entre as duas matrizes obtidas determinada pelo teste Z de Mantel apresentou valor baixo, 0,31, mas significativo (p<0,001). Os resultados obtidos sugerem que os locos microssatélites aliados às informações de genealogia proporcionam melhor análise da diversidade genética de cultivares de soja.

In this study, simple sequence repeats (SSR) loci and pedigree data were used to investigate the genetic relationship in a group of 168 Brazilian soybean cultivars. Eighteen SSR loci produced an average of 5.06 alleles and a mean gene diversity of 0.58 for the cultivars studied. Genetic distance (GD) was determined using the modified Roger's Wright distance, and a final dendrogram was in agreement with the cultivar pedigree. A distance matrix based on the coefficient of parentage scores was also generated for the cultivars, which ranged from 0 to 1, with a mean of 0.18, whereas SSR-based genetic similarity (1- GD) ranged from 0.01 to 0.90, with a mean of 0.25. Mantel's Z test showed that the similarity matrices generated from both the data sets were low, but significantly correlated (r = 0.31, p<0.001). The results showed that SSR data and pedigree analyses could help to quantify more accurately the degree of relationship among the soybean cultivars.
